How does it feel to get up at 6:00 a.m on Sunday..that too when you know that you are not going to a beautiful hill top for trekking but to office to support a release deployment! never experienced ?? ask me...feels horrible.
It is difficult to convince oneself to get up from the bed and get ready at 6 on a Sunday when you feel like staying close to your warm bedding but in the end who cares a damn you are convinced or not and so you get up.
One difficulty I feel being in Spain is sleeping on Friday and Saturday nights.Bilbao does not seem to be Bilbao on these nights. The serenity of the place disappears into the thick clouds of fun and frolic.People enjoy their freedom from the prison of daily boredom by getting into a real jovial mood. The common sight of lonely and silent streets is taken upon by chirpy and enthusiastic crowd.People drink , eat , meet friends and make merry. You often hear a gang of boys shouting on the road and since I am really sensitive to noise while sleeping , I hardly sleep and wish that I could understand Spanish..atleast I could get what these guys were saying and enjoy.
Spain also makes me realise the power of communication. Not knowing Spanish, it is very difficult to communicate with local community here. Today morning when I took the taxi, all I spoke to the taxi driver was..Hola! Buen Dias (hello, good day) and then I was blank at what he asked and he was blank at what I told.I handed him the address (the best way when you have to commute by taxi is write down the address on a piece of paper and hand it to the taxi driver) and all the way I just followed the sign boards that yes he was taking me in the right direction.People are honest here so you do not have the fear of getting robbed if you are new to the place, the prospect of which are really high in mera Bharat!.Telling the cab driver to go to right or left was like solving a puzzle which Einstein developed in his time and could not solve. But then I reached safely.Lucky me.
After all day of head banging with the laptop we had a successful deployment so no regrets for coming to office on a weekend and all that ends well is well.Back to my apartment watched the movie 13B, nice suspense movie.I have seen a good Hindi movie after quite some time. The earlier picks Delhi 6, Dhoondte reh jaoge just did not click.
So after a great Sunday and a great weekend I am off to sleep now as tomorrow begins another week where I will keep playing with bits and bytes.Ciao then!
